Selling kitchen appliances: KitchenAid, Ninja, Thermomix, Le Creuset and more

That stand mixer you used twice, the air fryer you replaced, the cast iron you never lift. How to sell kitchen appliances and cookware for cash in the UK.

Kitchen cupboards are where good intentions go to hide. The bread maker from a lockdown hobby, a second blender, a stand mixer that's too heavy to bring out, a pasta machine still in its box. Quality kitchen kit is built to last, which is exactly why it has a healthy second-hand market — and why it's worth selling rather than keeping "just in case".

Kitchen items that are worth selling

  • Stand mixers — KitchenAid, Kenwood Chef and Smeg are well known and widely wanted, especially with attachments.
  • Multi-cookers and air fryers — Ninja, Instant Pot, Tefal and similar.
  • Thermomix and other cooking robots — these hold value well when complete and working.
  • Coffee machines — bean-to-cup, espresso machines and grinders from brands like Sage, De'Longhi and Jura.
  • Cast iron and quality cookware — Le Creuset, Staub and good stainless pan sets.
  • Blenders and juicers — Vitamix, Nutribullet, Ninja and slow juicers.
  • Smaller gadgets — pasta machines, ice cream makers, sous vide circulators, food processors.

What buyers look for

Working order is essential — we only buy items that work properly. Beyond that, cleanliness makes a huge difference. Grease, limescale and baked-on residue put buyers off immediately. Accessories matter too: a KitchenAid with its bowl, beater, whisk and dough hook is a complete product; a bare motor unit is much less appealing.

Preparing kitchen appliances to sell

  1. Test everything. Run each setting, check the lid locks and safety switches work.
  2. Clean thoroughly. Wash removable parts, wipe the body, clear crumbs from vents and under feet. For enamel cast iron, a soak and a non-abrasive scrub brings back most of the shine.
  3. Descale coffee machines and kettles. Run a descaling cycle and empty all water. Water left in a machine can leak or freeze in transit.
  4. Gather the parts. Bowls, blades, lids, recipe chips, manuals. If parts are missing, note it.
  5. Check the weight. Postable items need to be within 30kg and 1.5m long. Even heavy stand mixers and cast iron sets are usually fine.

Selling options

Local selling apps and Facebook Marketplace work for kitchen items, but heavy appliances mean people coming to your door to look, test and then haggle. Online auctions mean finding a big enough box and arranging postage yourself.

With SendForCash, you describe the item, its condition and what's included, and get an instant cash offer. Accept, and we email you a free postage label. Box it up, drop it off, and we pay the same day we inspect. If anything differs from your description we'll explain and offer a revised price — or send it back free if you'd prefer.

Packing heavy or fragile kitchen items

  • Remove bowls, blades and attachments and wrap them individually. Blades should be covered or boxed so they can't cut through packaging.
  • Use a strong double-walled box for anything heavy like a stand mixer or cast iron.
  • Fill every gap. Heavy items shift in transit; crumpled paper or bubble wrap stops that.
  • For enamel cookware, put a layer of cardboard or a tea towel between lid and pot to protect the rim.

FAQ

Do you buy used kitchen appliances or only new ones?

Both, as long as they work properly and are clean. Unused and boxed items will usually attract a better offer than well-used ones.

Can I sell cookware that's not electrical?

Yes. Quality cast iron, enamelled cookware and good pan sets are all welcome.

Do you buy large appliances like fridges or washing machines?

No — they're too big to post. We can only accept items within 30kg and 1.5m in length.

My Thermomix is a few years old. Is it still worth selling?

Older generations still have a market if they work well and come with their parts. Describe the model and get an instant offer to see.
