Selling baby gear: monitors, carriers, compact strollers and more

Babies outgrow things fast. How to sell baby monitors, carriers, compact folding strollers, breast pumps and other baby gear in the UK — safely and easily.

Updated 22 October 2026 · 3 min read

Babies get through equipment at astonishing speed. Something essential at three months is in the loft by nine. Much of it is barely used, well made and expensive new, which makes it ideal for selling on to another family.

Baby items that are worth selling

  • Baby monitors — video monitors and smart monitors from brands like Nanit, Owlet, Motorola and Philips Avent.
  • Baby carriers and slings — structured carriers from Ergobaby, BabyBjörn, Tula and similar.
  • Compact folding strollers — travel strollers that fold small, like the Babyzen YOYO, Joolz Aer or GB Pockit, within 30kg and 1.5m.
  • Electric breast pumps — sealed or with new hygiene parts; see the note below.
  • Bottle prep machines and sterilisers — such as Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep.
  • White noise machines, night lights, baby bouncers and rockers that pack down to a postable size.
  • Educational toys and baby tech in good working order.

Full-size prams and travel systems are usually too bulky to post, so they're better sold locally.

Safety first

Some items need extra thought:

  • Car seats: it's widely advised not to buy or sell second-hand car seats unless you know their full history, because hidden damage from an accident may not be visible. We don't buy car seats.
  • Breast pumps: the motor unit is fine to resell, but tubing, flanges and valves are personal hygiene parts. Only include those if they're new and sealed.
  • Recalled products: check the GOV.UK product safety alerts and recalls pages if you're unsure about a specific product.

Getting baby gear ready

  1. Clean thoroughly. Wipe hard surfaces, wash removable fabric covers following the care label, and let everything dry completely.
  2. Test electronics. Make sure monitors connect, cameras work, and there are no app account links left — remove the device from your account and factory reset it.
  3. Gather parts and manuals. Chargers, mounts, inserts and rain covers make an item complete.

Selling options

Local parent groups, NCT nearly-new sales and Facebook Marketplace are popular for baby gear, and are great for bulky items. For postable items, if you'd rather not spend nap time answering messages, describe what you have on SendForCash and get an instant cash offer. Accept and we send you a free postage label. We pay the same day we inspect.

Packing

Fold strollers fully and secure any loose parts with tape or ties before boxing them. Wrap monitors and screens individually. Put fabric items in a plastic bag inside the box to keep them clean and dry.

FAQ

Do you buy baby clothes?

No — we don't buy any clothing, shoes or bags. Charity shops, nearly-new sales and clothing resale apps are better options.

Can I sell a used baby monitor?

Yes, if it works fully. Remove it from your app account and factory reset it first.

Do you buy prams?

Only compact strollers that fold small enough to post. Full-size prams and travel systems are too large.

What about high chairs?

Most high chairs are too bulky to post. Compact travel high chairs and booster seats within the size limits are fine.
